Where to eat in the DMV: Kirby Club, Laid-Back Lebanese Sister to Maydan
Kirby Club might just be our new favorite Friday night post-work spot. The new restaurant just opened in May at Mosaic District, and is already drawing crowds for its authentic Lebanese food, vibrant indoor-outdoor atmosphere, and fun cocktails. Coming from the same owner of Michelin-starred Maydan, you can set high expectations and won’t be disappointed!
Prepare for a flavor-packed journey at Kirby Club. The mezze selection showcases classics like hummus, a large selection of dips of which the carrot garlic dip was my favorite, pickled eggplant (which I was told is the chef’s grandma’s recipe!), and za’atar fries. Mains including grilled meats and veggies, were cooked to perfection and came in quite generous portions. We ordered way too much food for two people and ended up taking half of it home.
The vibes of Kirby Club were great - super casual yet sophisticated, with super high ceilings and plush booth seating. The best part was the indoor-outdoor flow - the restaurant opened up to the patio which overlooked the green at Mosaic, great for people watching.
Expect a blend of traditional and innovative flavors and a fun atmosphere - I’ll definitely be going back!
