A Little Bit of Tokyo in New York

Ever since my visit to Japan last spring I have become enamored wth the Japanese lifestyle and culture. I've been looking for ways to experience it in New York from visiting Japan Day in Central Park every year to looking for authentic Japanese restaurants to dine in. I love Japanese architecture and decor -- the lanterns, the straw shades, the orderly layout of the interiors.

I found this classically Japanese restaurant in East Village and absolutely loved the exterior.

While the weather is still warm out, it is technically fall season - so that means fall colors! As seen from NYFW recently, red has been crowned one of the 'best' Fall 2017 colors to wear. I prefer a more subtle and classic red that leans on the darker side than a bright orange-ish red, so that it doesn't make me feel like a light bulb walking down the street and is more slimming.

As fall progresses and the weather gets colder, one of the things I'm most excited to do is repurpose my sleeveless summer dresses for cold weather by layering a white long sleeve shirt underneath. Maybe now is the perfect time to get that satin slip dress you've been eyeing all summer (which is probably on sale by now), so that you can wear it for fall!

I'm a big fan of matching stones and jewels - the pearls in my earrings and bag happen to be from different designers but are pretty much the exact same size! I thought while my outfit is feminine, I'd go with a slightly edgier set of earrings and found these paper-clip shaped ones that I thought were pretty funky.
