Where to eat in the DMV: DC Area’s First Fine-Dining Singaporean Restaurant, Jiwa Singapura

DMV foodies! There's a new restaurant in town, and it's quickly become the talk of the town. That's right, we're talking about Jiwa Singapura. This restaurant just opened up in Tysons last month, and is the brainchild of Pepe Moncayo, a Michelin-starred chef who spent a decade in Singapore.

From the moment you step inside, you'll be blown away by the stunning decor. With soaring high ceilings and a luxurious feel, it's the perfect spot for a special occasion or a night out with friends. And if you're lucky enough to snag a spot on the patio, you're in for a real treat. The patio has sun and rain protection, so you can enjoy your meal in any weather. Plus, in the winter, they've got heat lamps to keep you warm and cozy.

Now, let's talk about the food. Jiwa Singapura offers family-style dining, which means it's perfect for sharing with your crew. We highly recommend starting off with the grilled chicken skewers, which were seriously some of the most tender chicken we've ever tasted. And don't miss out on the curry potato puffs or roti prata with curry dipping sauce – these dishes are packed with flavor.

But the star of the show has got to be the Chili Crab. This dish comes with a whole crab-eating kit, including gloves and a bib. And the golden mantou buns that come with it? They're a game-changer. Slightly sweet and fried to perfection, they're the perfect complement to the spicy and flavorful Chili Crab.

For drinks, we highly recommend trying the Buih, Buih, Buih cocktail, a Singaporean twist on the classic Aperol Spritz. Trust us, it's absolutely delicious.

Last but not least, the service at Jiwa Singapura is top-notch. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and they'll make sure you have an amazing dining experience. Our waiter ran back and forth several times between us and the bartender to get Will’s martini just right :)

Jiwa Singapura is a restaurant that's not to be missed.
