Rosecrans + A Bonus Photoshoot Spot

Valentine’s Day is almost here and love is in the air - today I’m sharing a relatively new instagrammable spot in New York that you should hit up to celebrate V Day, as well as a bonus photo-worthy spot that is only there for a limited time!

Rosecrans is a new (3-month old, that still counts right?) florist + cafe in the West Village. Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, it is full of surprises inside. Cafe tables with comfy sofas and lounge chairs line one side of the shop, while flowers and plants of all kinds in beautiful vases fill the perimeters and section off seating areas. There’s even a shelf of vintage goodies like old bottles, trinkets, books, etc for sale. Everything has a personal touch and a handwritten price tag.

The cafe menu offer is light on food but has plenty of drinks and pastries. I opted for a matcha latte, a cheddar chive biscuit, and a vegan yogurt - everything was delicious. There isn’t table service, which means it’s first come first serve when it comes to tables - so I recommend having one person to hold down a table while the others go up to the count to order if you have a group of 2 or more. If you are there by yourself, you may be able to find a seat at the bakery counter since most people don’t stay long there as there’s a “no-laptop” policy at the cafe.

BONUS PHOTOSHOOT SPOT:

Not too far (about a 15 min walk) from Rosecrans is the world’s first interactive/experiential store, Showfields, where you can experience via installations and trials various brands and products that are mostly sold online and not in a brick-and-mortar store. While the entire 3-storey building is full of photo-worthy spots, I think the most overlooked and cutest (imo) photo spot is right at the entrance: a pink British-inspired phone booth.

Doesn’t this look like the set of Mean Girls? Or Lizzie McGuire?
