Brunch over the Hudson: Old Rose

It's hard for me to go to the same restaurant twice in New York. Not that I don't have favorites, but there are just so many new places that I want to try, as shown by my ever-growing Instagram bookmarks page. I had been eyeing the Old Rose at the Jane Hotel for a while, and finally ventured over to the west side when my friend Greta visited town and had this exact place saved in her IG bookmarks as well.

The eatery is casual but elegant - bar seating is comfy and relaxing with vines all over the wall and speckless marble counters. The grilled bread is a simple treasure here, and the American breakfast is filling and perfect for someone who can't decide what he wants for brunch. I didn't get the chance to try the pizza, but from looking over to our neighbors's table the vodka and Margherita pizzas looked amazing.

If you're here in the afternoon/evening, try to make a reservation to check out the rooftop wine bar in the same building - amazing view of the Hudson, especially at sunset.
