Toronto Eats: Colette Grand Cafe

Yes, it's been a while since I last posted - I was traveling to my hometown in the Great White North! (#Toronto #Notthesix) Having grown up in North York pre-college years, I never really had the chance to try out some of the nice trendy restaurants in the downtown core, and so this weekend when I went back I made sure to hit up one of the restaurants that's been in my Instagram bookmarks for a while - Colette Grand Cafe

The French cafe is pretty popular among the young/middle-aged crowd, mostly because of its chic interiors and outdoor space. There's a cage-like exterior patio that extends alongside a shallow "pond", with a view of the CN Tower nearby. When we went for lunch at 2pm, there was still a decent amount of people having their extended Parisian lunch break, with several espresso cups having been emptied already.

We sat outside facing the street - it was prime people-watching real estate.

The seating inside the restaurant varies from bar seating to farm-table spreads to chic upholstered chairs and sofas.

The food was amazing - classic tartines with great variety, and the most delicious herb-seasoned skinny fries with garlic aioli you'll ever have. I loved my chicken salad tartine, which had mangos and celery chunk in the mix - perfect summer late brunch dish for a refreshing afternoon.

If you're in the Toronto area next, definitely check out Colette Grand Cafe. I'll be making repeated chips here whenever I'm back in town. Comment below if you have been here and have dish recommendations, or if you have other restaurants in Toronto that you think I should try!
